Seamus O'Caoimh: Heather Breeze/Blackberry Blossom (reels)

Here's a well-traveled 78rpm disc recorded by accordion player Seamus O'Caoimh (James O'Keefe) in Dublin for the Regal Zonophone label (IZ 877), likely sometime between 1935 and 1945. O'Caoimh's name begins appearing in Dublin newspapers around 1935 in lists of radio broadcasts. The August 10, 1936 edition of the Evening Herald lists: "Mr. Seamus O Caoimh, a Feis prize winner and well known accordeon-player, gives a selection of Irish and Scottish dance music at 6:15." Elsewhere he's listed as performing on programs with the Irish Radio Orchestra, as well as with Patrick Clarke (fiddle), John Howard (fiddle), and Seamus MacSamhraidin (song).

Peter Conlon recorded the Heather Breeze in 1921, and John J. Kimmel recorded the Blackberry Blossom in 1916, so these tunes have a particular accordion pedigree.
