Since today's World Accordion Day, we're highlighting a recording by Patrick Lynch that was recorded in 1925 for the O'Keh label (20131). Lynch's own band - Patrick Lynch's Orchestra - played in the Dance Halls of New York in the mid to late 1920s. This photo of Lynch appeared as an advertisement for his band in an April 1929 edition of the Irish Advocate. He was also a member of Louis E. Quinn and His Shamrock Minstrels.
The disc's label lists the tunes in question as Bonnie Kate/Miss McLeeds Reel/Clogging Reels. The second tune is Miss McLeod's, and the Parlophone release of the disc corrects the second tune's name to (Mrs.) McLeod's in the catalog at least. The third tune is a setting of the Flogging, which the Parlophone catalog retains at the Clogging Reel.
