'Tis the season, so this week's disc features a song from tenor Jim Dwyer, accompanied here by The Killoran Trio. Dwyer was an accordion player in New York and led his own dance bands from the 1930s through the 40s, but he became known as a vocalist from his string of recordings on the Decca label. He especially became associated with "Tipperary Far Away" since that was his home county. Dwyer's wife, Margaret, was a step dancer and singer.
Recorded in 1937 and released on the Decca label (12141). From the Ted McGraw Collection, McGraw 78 02-212.
