This week's 78rpm disc features one of Paddy Killoran's ensembles, the Irish-American Serenaders. Most of the other sides recorded by the group are features for vocalist/saxophonist Jack Healy, although these marches are arranged and recorded in the same American dance band style. Considering that Killoran's bands played the dance halls for both Irish and American dancing, these recordings might be examples of how they approached the music for the latter.
Recorded in 1937 and released on the Decca label (12124). From the Ted McGraw Collection, McGraw 78 01-164.
