Hitting the 90 track milestone, I'll be taking a bit of time off from updating the playlist since the Archives is working on contributing historical footage for Milwaukee Irish Fest's At Home online event in August (more details here: irishfest.com/athome.htm). Don't fear, I'll likely start posting again as the workload permits.
So we'll close out the first 90 tracks with one of my favorites, a revisit to Paddy Killoran and His Pride of Erin Orchestra's recording of the Sweeps/Fly By Night/Heirloom set of hornpipes recorded in 1934 and released on the Decca label (Decca 12004). The unlisted tune Fly By Night is played solo by James Ryan on (likely) c-melody saxophone. We previously posted this disc from the Irish Fest collection; this is from Ted McGraw's collection and playback speed has been adjusted to 80rpm per Alan Morrisroe's findings. Image is from the Irish Fest Collection disc.
From the Ted McGraw Collection, McGraw 78 01-151.
