Leo Molloy's Siamsa Gaedheal Band: Repeal of the Union/The Humours of Ballinafad/Jackson's Morning Brush (jigs)

This week's disc features a set of jigs b y Leo Molloy's Siamsa Gaedheal Band recorded in 1929 and released on the Dominion label (A.117). In a Facebook post to the ITM78 Facebook group, Helena Rowsome Grimes points out that:

"The Siamsa Gael Ceilidhe Band was very popular - one of the two most popular bands in Dublin - played at dances and concerts all over Ireland. The individual performers were very good, so they also performed as soloists in concert fashion in advance of a performance by the band at a Dance...Concert first...Dave would perform a piping solo - It says in the document I have that when Leo Rowsome left the Siamsa Gael Ceilidhe Band, Dave took his place."
