This week's disc features another recording on the Irish Recording Company label, this time featuring accordionist Terry Lane's band. For more info on the IRC, check out the new CD release from Cairdeas na bhFidiléirí, Taisce Luachmhar (Valuable Treasure) – The Fiddle Album. We've also published a blog describing the tie to the Erin recording label out of New Jersey (wardirishmusicarchives.com/WIMA-Blog/T…Mystery.htm).
Accordionist Lane was a member of the Dublin Metropolitan Garda Ceili Band and released several solo recordings on the HMV label in the 1930s and 1940s. This recorded version seems to be a version of Foley's Hotel attributed to John Stafford in this published version from 1882 (www.loc.gov/resource/sm1882.22629.0/?sp=1).
Recorded and released on the Irish Recording Company label (IR 1014-B). From the David Giovannoni Collection, DG 00-156.
