Joe Flanagan: Sunshine and Off to California (hornpipes)

We close out the week with a set of hornpipes from accordion player Joe Flanagan of the Flanagan Brothers fame. The flip side Half Crown Song credits Michael Whitey Andrews as the guitar player, so it's reasonable to assume that Andrews provides the banjo accompaniment here. Andrews was a tenor guitar player during this time period, and we know from photographic evidence that he played banjo for the Killoran ensembles of the day (wardarchives.pastperfectonline.com/photo/1…1193837). This was recorded in 1933 and released on the Vocalion label (84168).

From the Ted McGraw Collection, McGraw 78 00-996.
