Tom Senier and his Ceildhe Orchestra: Walls of Limerick (Johnny In the Glen - reel)

Here's another disc from accordionist Tom Senier's band, recorded for the Michael Herman Folk Dance Series in 1950. Michael and his wife Mary were two of the foremost folk dance teachers in America, and were the editors of the Folk Dancer Magazine (www.socalfolkdance.org/master_teache…herman_mm.htm). The tune featured here was recorded by other Boston area Irish musicians earlier in the 20th century - Dan Sullivan's Shamrock Band in 1926 and accordionist Connie Hanafin in 1928.

Recorded in 1950 and released on the Folk Dancer Record Service (MH 1074). From the Ted McGraw Collection, McGraw 78 03-172.
