Aughrim Slopes Ceilidh Band: Monestaryedan Fancy/Doone Hill/Gormans (reels)

This week's disc features the Aughrim Slopes Ceilidh Band on a set of reels recorded in 1937 and released on the Regal Zonophone label (IZ 722). The Monestaryedan Fancy is also known as Over the Moor the Peggy. Doone Hill is also know as the Mountain Top.

The Companion to Irish Music notes that the band was started under the direction of Jacky Fahy, father of Paddy Fahy. These recordings featured:
